NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2008
MALIBU CREEK STATE PARK
Saturday, September 27th is designated National Public Lands Day. On that day, hikers, bikers, equestrians, and others with an interest in the outdoors will take part in thousands of events nationwide in celebration of America's public lands. These events include trail maintenance, plant restoration, invasive plant eradication and many other activities to improve and enhance America's public lands.
This year the Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council (SMMTC) and Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) will be conducting a National Public Lands Day event at Malibu Creek State Park. For this event, volunteers will be performing trail maintenance on trails in Malibu Creek State Park. The work will include brush clearance, erosion repair and other general trail maintenance tasks. We hope you can join us for this important event.
