Trail Maintenance

Topanga School* Trail
Topanga State Park
* a Backbone Trail Segment
Today we had a total of 16 volunteers come out and help us maintain the Topanga School/Backbone Trail in Topanga State Park. We did lopping and brushing, cleared drainages, and removed some invasive plants (spanish broom, black mustard and milk thistle) along the trail. We completed the entire 1 mile section between Old Topanga Blvd and main Topanga Canyon Blvd. A small group even crossed over and did a short segment of the Dead Horse trail. It was appropriate on this first day of Spring that we observed a large rattlesnake out and about, so be careful now that the weather is warming up.
