Western Plateau Trail
COSCA Trail System
COSCA Trail Work Day
COSCA's annual spring work day - The work was to clean up after the bulldozer that had scraped the hill at the north-east end of the Western Plateau Trail. The project went very well, we had about 60 volunteers. With full support from The Conejo Rangers everything went like clockwork. The road is nicely groomed, water drains are established and one large wall constructed at place where erosion had cut a deep trench. We finished very early so the one and a half mile hike to the work site and back was no problem time wise. The Rangers fed us with a nice hamburger and hot dog lunch, with all the trimmings. Reporters from the Acorn and Ventura Country Star showed up to cover the event. As usual, the volunteers were vocal about enjoying the event. Thanks to the crew leaders for managing the work. Head Ranger Bruce declared that the section assigned to the crew led by John Kross was the most emaculate.
