Upper Saddle Peak Trail
Malibu Creek State Park
This was a joint project with the Sierra Club Task Force
On a lovely day we had nearly 25 volunteers come out to work on the Upper Saddle Peak trail. We had help from the Sierra Club's SMM Task Force lead by trailmaster Ron Webster along with a crew from the NPS. All but 6 tackled the invasive broome on the top lookout with saws and loppers. An herbicide was directly applied (painted) to the cut stumps. The other workers did traditional maintenance on the trail around the rocky outcrops as the trail decends the mountain. It was an extra long work day with still lots more to do next time.
