Saddle Peak Trail
Malibu Creek State Park
On a beautiful day after New Year's we had 15 volunteers usher in the first trail maintenance event of 2010. We worked on the Upper Saddle Peak Trail, a segment of the Backbone Trail. Much lopping, brush clearance, tread work, and installation/cleaning of water diversions took place. We hope those that made resolutions for the new year will keep them, especially if it involves getting outdoors and volunteering to keep our trail system in good condition. A coyote was also encountered in the early morning and it appeared to be begging for a handout, or maybe just a hand out a window.
